What is artificial intelligence? 

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a program code that gives machines the ability to perform tasks that normally requires human intelligence, such as understanding spoken & written language, making decisions as per predefined rules, recognising images, and learning from data. They can perform tasks with minimal human involvement. 

Thanks to the web, powerful CPUs, & rapid advancement in AI modelling, these programs have become so sophisticated that they are able to generate content using easy-to-use words.

Generative AI is one such AI model, that can generate content/ new data in response to any input data, it could be in the form of text, image, audio or video file. The model will search for similar models and data structures in its master dataset to create new content. This master data set will be comprised of millions of smaller datasets that are easily accessible on the Internet. For example, it can write sentences, articles, poems, using a small set of words; it can create multiple version of an image or add animation using single image source, it can even create audio or video file using word description.

Here is a list of some generative AI models you can try: 

Bard/Gemini: A chatbot built by Google using their LaMDA foundation model that can help users with creative writing tasks such as poetry, stories, essays, or lyrics.

Studio Bot: An AI-powered coding assistant that can help Android developers with questions, code errors, and code snippets.

DALL-E: A transformer-based pixel generative model that can create realistic images from natural language prompts.

Stable Diffusion: A diffusion-based generative model that can produce high-quality images with diverse styles and content

Generative AI models are capable of transforming the marketing landscape. It can assist marketing specialists with tasks such as content creation, creative personalization, ad copy writing, AI powered chatbots & virtual assistants, data analysis & visualisation, market research, competitor tracking, social listening & sentiment analysis, predictive analysis & dynamic product pricing.      

GAI can even help draft media briefings, suggest branding strategies, create great slides. This is the Holy Grail of all, so the brand should bid farewell to its agency and start working with these models? 

Not at present, because these models are still in a nascent stage, they will need some extra years to be a mass product. For the moment, brands & marketers should look out for these technologies as these are the future, future marketing, the future of computer science, and perhaps also the future of the Internet.
