Zoho CRM: Features, India Pricing & Alternatives
Zoho CRM is an India-billed customer relationship management tool. What it does, who it fits, where it falls short, and which figures we have actually published.
Pricing in India
Zoho bills Indian customers in rupees with 18% GST on the invoice and offers an India data centre — but LearnMarketing has published no per-seat figure for Zoho CRM itself; the only Zoho numbers we have costed are for Zoho Marketing Automation and Zoho Campaigns.

- Data residency via the India data centre
- Suite-wide integration across Zoho products

What Zoho CRM is
Zoho CRM is a customer relationship management (CRM) tool — a shared record of every lead, contact, deal and conversation — built by Zoho, an Indian software company that invoices in rupees and shows its GST (Goods and Services Tax) identification number on the bill. It sits at the centre of the wider Zoho suite, connecting to Zoho Marketing Automation for lead scoring and journeys, Zoho Campaigns for email, and Zoho Books and Desk for finance and support.
One thing to be clear about up front: we have not published a per-seat price for Zoho CRM itself. The only Zoho figures LearnMarketing has costed are for Zoho Marketing Automation and Zoho Campaigns, and those are what appear in the tiers above. Treat the CRM licence as uncosted on this page rather than reading a number into the gap.
Key features
- Lead, contact, account and deal records in one shared database
- Pipeline and deal-stage tracking for sales teams
- Free, tight integration with Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Campaigns, Zoho Books and Zoho Desk
- Lead scoring, multi-step journeys and web behaviour tracking when paired with Zoho Marketing Automation
- Billing in INR, with 18% GST on the invoice and a GSTIN you can enter in billing settings
- An India data centre option, which shortens data-residency conversations under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023
Who it fits
Solo founders and two-person teams billing in rupees. This is the clearest fit. Our stack guidance is to default to Zoho if your revenue is in rupees, and skip anything heavier: below roughly 100,000 customer records or fewer than four meaningful data sources, a customer data platform rarely pays for itself, and a CRM plus a marketing automation tool covers the same use cases far more cheaply.
Five- to twenty-person teams with a real sales motion. If deals are worked by humans over weeks — B2B (business-to-business) software, edtech, financial products, real estate — a shared pipeline record is the point, and Zoho CRM is the cheapest credible way for an Indian company to get one without a dollar-billed contract.
Teams already inside the Zoho suite. If you run Books or Desk, the integration is free and the data flows without a middleware layer. That is the strongest practical argument for Zoho CRM and it has nothing to do with feature checklists.
Where it is less obviously right: consumer apps at mid-market scale. If you have one lakh to twenty lakh monthly active users and your marketing is push notifications and WhatsApp campaigns, your money goes to an engagement platform, not to a sales CRM. Those are different jobs and buying one does not remove the need for the other.
Where it is weak
The interface is clunkier than the alternatives. Our pricing comparison puts this plainly as the trade-off for Zoho’s cost advantage, alongside a thinner agency-partner ecosystem in India than HubSpot enjoys. If you want to hire an agency that already knows your stack, your shortlist is shorter.
The product naming causes real budgeting errors. Zoho CRM, Zoho Marketing Automation and Zoho Campaigns are three separate products at three separate prices. Teams mix up the last two constantly, then discover that lead scoring and journeys are not in the cheap email tool they bought.
We cannot tell you the seat price. LearnMarketing has published cost bands for Zoho Marketing Automation and Zoho Campaigns and not for Zoho CRM. That is a gap in our coverage, not a signal that the CRM is free or cheap. Get a quote in writing before you plan a budget around it.
A CRM does not fix an empty funnel. If you send one campaign a month to 3,000 people, no tool on this page changes the outcome. Content, list growth and media come first.
Alternatives
- HubSpot — a free CRM with paid marketing, sales and service layers on one record. Worth it for funded B2B companies, often dollar-earning, with someone who owns the system; expensive and largely wasted otherwise. See Zoho vs HubSpot vs Mailchimp: the India price reality check.
- Mailchimp — not a CRM, but the honest alternative if what you actually needed was email. Best when email is most of your marketing and your list is under about 20,000; weak on lead scoring and complex B2B journeys. Same comparison covers the maths.
- An Indian engagement platform (WebEngage, MoEngage, CleverTap) — the right buy if your problem is lifecycle messaging at app scale rather than sales pipeline. Mid-market bands run ₹6–25 lakh, ₹8–35 lakh and ₹10–40 lakh a year respectively, per Best customer data platforms in India.
For where any of these sit in a full stack and what the layers around them cost, see The Indian Marketing Stack Cost Reference.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Zoho CRM cost in India?
We have not published a per-seat price for Zoho CRM, so treat it as uncosted here rather than assuming a figure. What we have published is the adjacent Zoho pricing: Zoho Marketing Automation runs roughly ₹1,000–1,600 a month at 1,000 contacts, ₹4,000–6,000 at 10,000 and ₹13,000–20,000 at 50,000, and Zoho Campaigns sits around ₹1,500–3,000 a month at about 10,000 contacts. Get the CRM seat rate from Zoho directly.
Is Zoho cheaper than HubSpot for an Indian team?
Yes, substantially — usually by a factor of five or more once your list passes 10,000 contacts, and the gap widens as you grow. Zoho also bills in rupees, so there is no foreign exchange markup and the GST is straightforward to claim back. HubSpot’s higher price buys a unified CRM, sales tools and a large partner ecosystem, which is worth it for some teams and wasted on others.
Does Zoho issue a GST invoice in India?
Yes. Zoho is an Indian company, so it invoices in rupees, shows its GST identification number and charges 18% GST. A GST-registered business claims that back as input tax credit, making the base price the real cost. Buying from a US vendor instead is an import of services, handled under the reverse charge mechanism or the OIDAR rules. Enter your GSTIN in billing settings before your first invoice.
What is the difference between Zoho CRM, Zoho Marketing Automation and Zoho Campaigns?
Zoho CRM is the sales record: leads, contacts, deals and pipeline. Zoho Marketing Automation is a separate marketing product — lead scoring, multi-step journeys, web behaviour tracking — that plugs into the CRM. Zoho Campaigns is the cheaper, email-only sibling with no journey or scoring layer. They are three purchases, not three views of one product, and confusing the last two is the most common Zoho budgeting mistake.
